Product Description

The DuPont UF SFP-2860 ultrafiltration module delivers robust performance in space-limited applications. Featuring PVDF hollow fiber technology with an outside-in flow configuration, it efficiently handles feed water with high solids while minimizing pretreatment needs and backwash volumes.

Key Features:
  • Precision Filtration: 0.03 μm nominal pore size removes bacteria, viruses, colloids, and particulates to protect downstream RO systems.
  • Engineered Durability: Hydrophilic PVDF fibers offer superior mechanical strength and chemical resistance (pH 2-11) for extended service life.
  • Space-Saving Design: Shorter length (1,860 mm / 73.2 in) ideal for low-ceiling installations with 51 m² (549 ft²) effective membrane area.
  • Broad Compatibility: Processes surface water, seawater, industrial wastewater, and municipal effluents.
Operating Specifications:
  • Flux Range: 40-90 LMH (24-53 gfd) at 25°C
  • Flow Rate per Module: 2.0-6.9 m³/hr (8.8-30.4 gpm)
  • Temperature Limits: 1-40°C (34-104°F)
  • Max Operating TMP: 2.1 bar (30.5 psi)
  • Chemical Tolerance: Compatible with ≤2,000 mg/L NaOCl
  • Hold-Up Volume: 35 liters (9.3 gallons)
  • Weight: 48 kg (106 lbs) empty / 83 kg (183 lbs) water-filled
Performance Guarantees:
  • Filtrate turbidity ≤0.1 NTU
  • Filtrate SDI ≤2.5
Critical Notes:
  • Installation: Requires strict adherence to DuPont UF Product Manual startup procedures.
  • Maintenance: Discard initial filtrate; max backwash pressure 2.5 bar (36 psi).
  • Compliance: Industrial grade (NSF-certified drinking water version: SFD-2860).
  • Warranty: Void if operating limits or maintenance protocols are violated.
Certifications:

NSF/ANSI 61 (if applicable), FDA compliant (for food contact, if relevant).

Important Information

Proper start-up of a UF system is indispensable for preparing the membranes for operational service and preventing membrane damage. Adhering to the correct start-up sequence also contributes to ensuring that the operating parameters of the system conform to the design specifications, thereby enabling the attainment of system water quality and productivity targets. Before commencing the system start-up procedures, membrane pretreatment, installation of the membrane modules, instrument calibration, and other system checks should be accomplished. Kindly refer to the product technical manual.

Operation Guidelines
  • Avoid any sudden pressure fluctuations during start-up, shutdown, cleaning or other processes to prevent potential membrane damage.
  • Flush the UF system to eliminate the shipping solution before start-up.
  • Remove the residual air from the system before start-up.
  • Manually initiate the equipment.
  • Aim for a permeate flow of 60% of the design during the initial operations.
  • Depending on the application, the permeate obtained from the initial operations should be disposed of.

Please refer to the product technical manual.

Regulatory Note

NOTICE: NSF/ANSI 61 certified drinking water modules demand specific conditioning procedures before generating potable water. Please refer to the flushing section of the product technical manual for detailed procedures. Drinking water modules might be subject to additional regulatory constraints in certain countries. Please verify local regulatory guidelines and the application status before usage and sale.

The utilization of this product does not inevitably ensure the elimination of cysts and pathogens from water. Effective reduction of cysts and pathogens depends on the complete system design as well as the operation and maintenance of the system.
