High Light: | MK-3MiniHT E-Cell Stack,MK-3MiniHT EDI E-Cell Stack,Suez EDI E-Cell Stack |
E-Cell MK-3MiniHT is the sole lab and pharmaceutical electrodeionization (EDI) stack designed to:
• Provide ultrapure water for pharmaceutical applications.
• Be hot water sanitizable up to 185°F (85°C) for 160 cycles.
• Operate without Concentrate recirculation and without brine injection.
• Not require stack bolt tightening.
• Be leak-free, guaranteed.
• Operate with low power, <150VDC.
Description and Use:
E-Cell MK-3MiniHT stacks are hot water sanitizable EDI stacks that utilize electrical current to deionize and polish reverse osmosis (RO) permeate water. The product water for the MK-3MiniHT exceeds the USP quality levels required in today's pharmaceutical applications.
Typical Applications:
• Pharmaceutical
• Laboratory

The E-Cell MK-3MiniHT's product water is ideally suited for small-scale industrial applications, where it exceeds the quality standards required by USP, EP, and other pharmacopeias. It is reliable for use in various applications such as water for injection, pharmaceutical purified water, and laboratory purified water systems. To facilitate the design process and further enhance confidence in your EDI application, Veolia provides performance projections and guarantees for the E-Cell through the Winflows* software or by direct contact. This ensures that you can confidently integrate the E-Cell MK-3MiniHT into your water purification needs with ease and precision.
Quality Assurance for the E-Cell MK-3MiniHT Stack is rigorous, adhering to multiple international standards and certifications. The product holds CE, RoHS, CSA, and EAC markings, ensuring compliance with various safety and environmental regulations. All materials in direct contact with the fluids processed by the E-Cell MK-3MiniHT stack fulfill the requirements set by the FDA, guaranteeing food-grade safety. Additionally, it is certified with UKCA, reflecting its conformity to British standards.
Manufactured in a facility that adheres to ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) standards, the E-Cell MK-3MiniHT Stack further demonstrates its commitment to excellence in both product quality and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the stack has been Halal certified by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA®), validating its suitability for use in applications catering to Halal dietary restrictions. This comprehensive suite of quality assurance measures ensures that the E-Cell MK-3MiniHT Stack meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability.
Notes on the E-Cell MK-3MiniHT Stack:
1. Actual site conditions may affect the performance of the system. It is recommended to use Winflows projection software to confirm the expected water quality, resistivity, sodium, and silica performance guarantees under the specified design conditions. For boron or any other guarantees, please contact Veolia for further details.
2. The inlet pressure is determined by several factors, including the downstream pressure requirements for both the product and concentrate streams, the choice of counter-current or co-current operation mode, and the pressure drop across the stack.
3. Nominal flow rates and a temperature of 25°C are the reference conditions. It is advisable to refer to the Winflows projection software for verification under the actual design conditions.
4. Please refer to the Winflows projection software and the E-Cell Stack Owner’s Manual to ensure that the feed water specifications are suitable for the design conditions of the system.
5. TEA (Total Exchangeable Anion) represents the total concentration of anions in the feed water, including contributions from OH-, CO2, and SiO2. It is essential to use Winflows to confirm that the feed water TEA is acceptable under the specific operating conditions of the application. The table value provided is based on minimum flow and maximum temperature.
6. The feed water hardness limit of 1.0 ppm as CaCO3 applies specifically to standard counter-current flow operation. However, when operating in co-current flow mode, the allowable feed water hardness decreases to 0.1 ppm as CaCO3.
7. The allowable silica limit decreases when the flow exceeds the nominal value. Additionally, the limit further decreases to 0.5 ppm if the feedwater hardness is above 0.5 ppm as CaCO3.
8. The boron feed level is capped at 0.3 ppm as B whenever there is a requirement for a silica guarantee or a resistivity guarantee exceeding 10 MOhm-cm. Higher boron levels could potentially affect the system's performance. Without these requirements, the limit is extended to 1.0 ppm boron.
9. Reverse Osmosis (RO) or an equivalent process is recommended for providing feed water to the EDI system. RO effectively removes particulate matter, colloidal material, and high molecular weight organic substances that can foul the ion exchange media. Since EDI stacks contain packed beds of ion exchange medium that cannot be backwashed/fluidized, it is crucial to specify the RO permeate quality. Systems with an open loop between the RO system (or other source) and the E-Cell (e.g., a tank, decarbonator) must incorporate filters immediately preceding the E-Cell to protect it from contamination by particulate matter. Generally, a 5 µm absolute or 1 µm nominal filter is considered acceptable.
10. APHA color standards/scales are named after the American Public Health Association and are defined by ASTM D1209. These standards help measure and classify the color of water, which can be an indicator of water quality.
